ABOUT THE ARTIST

Allison C. Fowler
A life long member of First Baptist Church of West Columbia,
Allison Carrie Fowler began painting before she was six years old.
Under the tutelage of her father, Eric Fowler, she has excelled by
honing her skills in every artistic medium she had to work with.
Allison’s artwork has won numerous first place awards and won
Best In Show at the 1993 South Carolina Pioneers Hobby Exhibit.
In 1996, First Baptist commissioned Allison to paint a massive mural,
“Guiding Light,” in the youth Lighthouse area. Her work has also been
featured on WIS, The South Carolina State Museum, The State Fair,
numerous Church and Vacation Bible School events at FBCWC
as well as Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
Allison is also the artistic director and craft coordinator for
the 1st & 2nd Grade Sunday school class at FBCWC. She designs
the children’s crafts every Sunday to help them remember the
Biblical lesson for that day.
Along with her painting skills, Allison is an accomplished
sketch artist, photographer, and sculptor.
When asked about her view on her many talents, Allison has said,
“I have no real ability of my own. Without God to guide me and
keep me steady there is no way I could do any of the things I do.
I count my blessings every day knowing I am saved by His Amazing Grace,
and I try to express my thanks to Him through the works of my hands.
At 30 years old, I have to say this Historical collage is the greatest
piece I have ever had the privilege of painting.”
To God Be The Glory!
