Welcome to the First Family!
Whether you call it Sunday School or Bible Study, the ministry is the same. The Sunday School is the primary teaching and outreach ministry of the church.
Sunday School is the foundational strategy in a local church for leading people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and for building Great Commission Christians through Bible study groups that engage people in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and worship.
The primary focus of the Sunday School is on people; and it is designed to meet the needs of every family member. This is why every member of the First Family is enrolled in a Sunday School class. The Bible Study Ministry is the best way to help people become involved in a systematic study of God’s Word in a smaller group setting. It is in this setting that members learn how to apply biblical truths to everyday life situations. It also gives people an opportunity to meet new friends, build relationships, experience genuine fellowship and discover how to become involved in ministry opportunities.
The definition for Southern Baptist Sunday Schools is stated as: Sunday School is the foundational strategy in a local church for leading people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and for building Great Commission Christians through Bible study groups that engage people in evangelism discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and worship.
It is the goal of every leader and teacher in the Bible Study Ministry of First Baptist to help members and guests to experience a victorious Christian lifestyle. The ultimate purpose of Bible study is to reveal the timeless truths of God’s Word, understand their application for today and learn how to live out those truths through our everyday lifestyle.
