Maruuk Centaur Reputation Overview in Dragonflight (10.0.2) (2024)

The Dragonflight expansion features the return of a new and improvedRenown system of gaining reputation, and is used for the mainfactions of the Dragon Isles. Here, you will learn about one of theseknown as the Maruuk Centaur and discover its rewards at every Renownlevel, important profession recipes tied to your reputation, and what uniqueweekly activities are available for you involving it.

The Maruuk Centaur comprise the main clans of Centaur that settled on theDragon Isles long ago, during the first war with the Burning Legion, withthe help of their guiding wild spirit, Ohn'ahra. These clans, though spreadacross the Ohn'ahran Plains, still often meet in their ancestral villageof Maruukai to peacefully discuss clan business and remember their pact offriendship with the nearby green dragonflight. Now, with the clans shaken by a betrayalfrom within, it is up to you to help the clans stay united againstThe Nokhud Offensive and honor their promise to aid the dragonflightsagainst the threat of the Primalists.

You will first gain access to this Renown-based reputationearly on in Dragonflight while questing through the Ohn'ahran Plainszone. Progression properly begins with the quest Maruukai, sendingyou to the Centaur home of the same name. At this point, you may also pick upthe Orientation: Maruukai quest to help introduce yourself to many of theimportant NPCs involved with its rewards. Note, however, that you may stillearn reputation with the Maruuk Centaur even before being able to claim anyrewards for reaching higher Renown levels.

Although all Renown-based reputations in Dragonflightmostly contain "optional" rewards such as mounts, cosmetic armorand weapon appearances, toys, battle pets, titles, and uniqueDragonriding customizations, they also provide access to a variety ofadditional activities within the zones of the Dragon Isles that alsoreward extra gear that may prove valuable while initially gearing a characterat Level 70. In addition, note thatmany of the rewards and features from this reputation are account-basedunlocks that also feature catch-up mechanisms for alts. This is especially helpfulif you wish to acquire some of the unique Profession recipes that arelocked behind specific renown levels.

If you are behind on your Renown, you may wish to take advantageof the Dreamsurges present throughout the zones of the Dragon Islesas of Patch 10.1.7. In addition to providing easy access to catchup gearfor your character as you do world quests in a zone with an active Dreamsurge,you may also occasionally receive the Dreamsurge Learnings buff for 30minutes at a time. This buff increases your experience and reputation earningsby 50% while active!

For the Maruuk Centaur in particular, here is a summary of all rewards availablefrom maximizing its 25 Renown levels:

Although there are many NPCs among the Maruuk Centaur, there are a handfulthat are more important due to being frequent vendors of its many Renownrewards. Refer to the labeled map below for their locations.

In particular, you will want to meet up with Quartermaster Huseng inMaruukai, who will act as your quartermaster for most Maruuk Centaur rewards!

In addition to the cosmetic rewards offered at various Renownlevels, there are a number of Profession recipes available forpurchase as well. Some of these may prove especially important for you if youare looking to make some extra Gold or acquire additional profession knowledge!The recipes, their required renown level, and relevant profession are listedbelow.

One of the key unlockable features of the Maruuk Centaur reputation is theability to participate in hunts with Clan Shikaar against various beasts of theDragon Isles. This feature is first unlocked at Renown level 5, thoughit is an account-wide unlock; that is to say, only one character needsto have reached this renown for any further characters to participate.

These hunts consist of what are essentially extended world quest activities —defeating a large number of beasts, powerful boss-level enemies, and gatheringvaluable resources for the centaur clans to use back in Maruukai. Upon completionof your first hunt for the week, you will receive Grand Hunt Spoils,containing Gold, Dragon Isles Supplies, gear, and even rare cosmeticslike the Plainswalker Bearer mount!

However, with each subsequent hunt completed for a week, your rewards will bereduced ( Grand Hunt Spoils, Grand Hunt Spoils, andeventually Grand Hunt Spoils). After completing 6 hunts ina week, you will receive no further rewards. Remember, though, since it is only thefirst completed hunt per character each week that offers the best rewards, youshould not feel forced to participate in every hunt.
