Objective
After completing this lesson, you will be able to identify how to access resources within the SAP landscape, including the use of S-user ID, SAP Universal ID, and SAP for Me.
Prelude
When an SAP contract is finalized, the customer nominates a Technical Administrator (also called IT contact).
The IT contact will:
- Receive all communications to access their SAP product (including provisioning and welcome e-mails).
Note
Accessing your individual solution is covered in a different lesson of this course.
- Become an S-user Administrator (also called Super Admin).
Note
SAP always creates the first Super Admin. If your company is a new SAP customer and does not have any S-users yet, the IT contact will receive an email with their new S-user ID credentials as a Super Admin.
S-user
1. What is an S-user?
An S-user ID is a unique SAP identification required to access SAP resources reserved for SAP customers and partners, such as SAP for Me, case management, product documentation, training courses, and software downloads.
Click here to learn more on how to set up your S-users.
2. Don't Have an S-user?
The Super Admin is the S-user responsible for creating new S-user IDs and the maintenance of authorizations for all S-users. To request a new S-user ID, contact a Super Admin in your company.
If you don´t know who the Super Admin in your company is, you can either:
- contact the SAP Customer Interaction Center (CIC) for help, via chat, phone, or e-mail.
- ask a colleague with an S-user ID to find in SAP for Me the list of all the administrators at your company.
If there's no Super Admin assigned to your company or the initial access information is lost then you can use the ‘User Onboarding Token'. This is a digital code found on the SAP Contract (available for cloud products) that can be used by anyone at the customer to identify the IT Contact and create a Super Admin.
For more information, visit the User Onboarding Token support page.
Additional Information
- How do I assign authorizations to S-users?
- SAP assists customers and partners in their responsibility for user administration by assigning an expiration date to all S-users. The S-user Lifetime process helps protect your sensitive company information and ensures compliance to the pertinent data protection regulations that may apply to you (e.g. GDPR). What does an S-user lifetime process look like?
- How do I grant access to my implementation partner?
SAP Universal ID
An SAP Universal ID provides easier access to SAP sites. With an SAP Universal ID, you have one single SAP account for life. It gives you the ability to log in once and choose between your S/P-user IDs, enabling you to easily switch between S-users and manage your account profile.
With an SAP Universal ID, you can:
- Take control of your experience: Own and manage your personal SAP identity.
- Keep your account for life: Use it wherever you go, regardless of where you work.
- Use one login for all your accounts: Manage one account and password by linking all your existing company accounts (S-user IDs) in one universal account.
SAP for Me
Now that you have your S-user ID you can access SAP for Me.
1. What is SAP for Me
